Indie toy retailer Langleys to open second store in Chapelfield

The independent toy retailer, Langleys is opening a new store in the Chapelfield shopping centre this year, with the promise of ‘rivalling deals available on the internet.’

This will mark the second shop location for Langleys, an independent toy store that opened in Norwich some 140 years ago. Langleys currently resides in Norwich’s landmark Victorian arcade.

Owner, Steve Scott has revealed his plans to keep the store in the current location for ‘at least another year,’ suggesting that Langleys can trade successfully in both the Royal Arcade and Chapelfield.

The Chapelfield set-up will be a single, one-storey unit with an emphasis on ‘aggressive pricing.’

“The footfall is a lot higher in Chapelfield so I aim to be competitive on price,” he said. “It bucks the trend towards internet expansion and this flagship shop will be a blend of the traditional values for which Langleys has been known for more than 125 years, and regularly changing special offers providing pricing that would compete favourably with the internet.

“Langleys in the Royal Arcade will continue to trade for at least another year.”
