In a double-whammy, Wild & Wolf’s eco-friendly children’s gifts and toys brand Petit Collage has been handed a Recommended seal at the 2019 Parents’ Choice Awards, as well as shortlisted in the 2019 Junior Design Awards.
The brand’s own Shine Bright Magnetic Play Sets range garnered recognition at the Parents’ Choice Awards when it took home the Recommended seal, impressing judges with its collection of magnetic dress up scenes that include The Studio, Space Bound and Nature Studies, each inspired by real women role models such as Mae Jemison, the first African American astronaut, Frida Kahlo and Jane Goodall.
Established in 1978, The Parents’ Choice Foundation is America’s oldest nonprofit guide to children’s media and toys and its Awards are considered one of the most prestigious in the US.
The entries go through a comprehensive product evaluation process consisting of a four-page questionnaire that queries the product’s developmentally appropriate content and challenges, the overall design and function, the educational value, long-term play value, and the benefits to a child’s social and emotional growth and wellbeing.
Meanwhile, the Junior Design Awards recognise style and design, celebrating the best-of-the-best in a child’s life. Two of Petit Collage’s new products were shortlisted: the Wild Rainbow Wooden Balancing Game in the Best Eco Toy Design category and the Shine Bright Magnetic Play Sets in the Best Creative Play category.
Petit Collage was also shortlisted in the new Best Toy/Gift Brand category. The winners will be announced in August.
Petit Collage is a sustainability-focused range of gifts and toys, each made from recycled or recyclable substrates, with minimised packaging to avoid unnecessary waste.
“We are so very excited about this recognition for Petit Collage,” said Lorena Siminovich, founder of Petit Collage.
“Being awarded the ‘Recommended’ seal of approval from the Parents’ Choice Awards for second year running is an achievement we are very proud of. We’re also delighted to learn that we’ve been shortlisted in a total of three categories in this year’s Junior Design Awards, including ‘Best Toy/Gift Brand’. Being recognised among so many other wonderful design-led children’s brands in the UK is a real honour.
“We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the winners announcement in August.”
