Hot Wheels’ construction toy meets video game TechMods is on Indiegogo now

Mattel has turned its attention to the crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo to launch its new connected play offering, Hot Wheels TechMods Accelo GT.

The latest in the firm’s endeavours to capture the connected play audience, the concept, launched under the Hot Wheels banner is recognised as the first buildable RC car that is also a video game.

Fans are first challenged to build their own race car with the easy-to-assemble-kit. A companion app will then allow players to drive the car with their smart device, or use the car itself as a physical controller to play in-app mini games.

The game’s Treasure Hunt mode allows players to level up and modify their car.

Mattel has now partnered with the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo to launch the connected play TechMods concept to online audiences.

The Hot Wheels TechMods kits are expected to ship this August.
