Board game publisher CMON to open flagship brick and mortar store

The board game publisher CMON is preparing to launch its first brick and mortar retail outlet in Singapore, tapping into the growing call for tabletop gaming in the Asia market.

The store will be heralded as the flagship retail destination for the firm, formerly known as Cool Mini Or Not. The CMON Store officially opens on May 18.

The publisher is widely known for developing hit tabletop titles such as the zombie survival game Zombicide, the Japanese mythical fantasy game, Rising Sun, and the adaptation of George R R Martin’s fantasy book series a Song of Ice and Fire Miniature Game.

The grand opening of the store this weekend will feature demonstrations of the latest board games from CMON, a tour of the premises, a special board game auction and the chance to win a collection of games.

On top of this, a gaming competition will be held, while a raffle draw at regular intervals during the day will give participants the chance to win CMON Kickstarter exclusives, as well as memorabilia.

CMON won’t be the first to franchise out its board game publishing brand into brick and mortar retail. Games Workshop and Warhammer has found vast success in the business model on a global scale.
