Hasbro to makes a splash with first themed water park in Malaysia

Hasbro has detailed plans to launch a new themed water park, featuring brands such as NERF, Monopoly and My Little Pony.

The project will be the result of a new partnership with the Malaysia-based real estate company, Meridian Berhad. It is slated to cover 20 acres and will form part of the Melaka Tourism City project in Melaka, Malaysia.

The water park is the most recent in Hasbro’s ongoing efforts to grow its live experiences portfolio. Last year, the toy firm partnered with Imagine Resorts and Hotels to launch a themed indoor water park and family resort.

The new waterpark is set to open in 2022, and will feature themed hotel rooms and entertainment, as well as an indoor water park and experiences inspired by NERF, Monopoly, Mr. Potato Head, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Candy Land and My Little Pony.

In addition, Hasbro has recently detailed the first NERF family play space, which will open in Singapore at the Marina Square Shopping Mall this winter. It will span 180,000 square feet within the mall.
