Character Group remains optimistic for 2019 trading as revenues grow to near £60m

The Character Group has seen operating profits for the past six months grow £1 million to £5.9 million, while revenues approach £60 million.

The Oldham-based firm said it has delivered a strong first half performance with directors ‘optimistic about progress the business will make over this calendar year.’ The revenue increase of more than £8 million has set the group up nicely for the back end of the year.

Peppa Pig and Stretch Armstrong seem to have lead sales, according to a report from The Business Desk, as well as the success Character has seen with third-party properties Little Live Pets and Pokémon.

Character has also credited ranges such as Hair Dooz, Odditeez Ploppz and OMG pets with helping it to success.

The group has stated that it will be introducing further new products and range extensions to its portfolio in the coming months and remains confident in its ability to adapt to the industry and retail’s changing landscape.
