Panini has reaffirmed its commitment to the digital collectables space via a new deal in the US that brings its NBA licensed trading cards and stickers to the popular Quidd app.
The move, according to Quidd CEO and founder, Michael Bramlage, is a big step in “further establishing digital collecting as a mainstream way to collect.”
Panini’s official NBA trading cards and stickers will be part of a dedicated Panini channel on the Quidd platform, and will feature teams and individual players from the past and present. The trading cards and stickers will be available for fans to buy and sell within the Quidd app.
“From our physical trading card products to digital sticker albums and trading cards, Panini prides itself on being the most innovative player in the licensed sports collectables industry,” said Mark Warsop, CEO of Panini America.
“This partnership with Quidd will bring our licensed collectables from the NBA to new audiences within the Quidd community. Our goal is to engage collectors, wherever they choose to collect.”
Quidd was founded in 2015 and has fast become the leading platform for buying, selling and displaying licensed stickers, trading cards and 3D toys. It already feature IP from leading names and brands including Marvel, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty and more.
It now works with companies including Panini, Disney, Hasbro and Funko.
Michael Bramlage, co-founder and CEO of Quidd, added: “In many ways, it’s generations of sports fans that have most influenced how we collect today. This Panini partnership not only represents an opportunity to introduce the world of NBA to millions of young digital collectors on Quidd, but also further establishes digital collecting as a mainstream way to collect.”
