Gibsons is launching seven new jigsaws this season, looking to the current demand for nostalgia in the puzzling space as the company itself celebrates its own 100th anniversary.
The puzzling company is celebrating Britain’s love of Walls ice cream this summer, with a look at the famed brand’s rich history within its 1000 piece puzzle collection. A British icon that spans the generations, Wall’s is arguably the UK’s largest ice-cream brand to date.
Meanwhile, and to commemorate 75 years since the D-Day Landings in 1944, Gibsons has re-released artist Bill Perring’s 1000-piece puzzle from 2004. It’s a scene depicting the Allied Forces landing in France with a Spitfire in the foreground, two Typhoons to the right and landing craft approaching the beach in the background.
For the more contemporary puzzler, the firm is also releasing Curious Kittens, and All Aboard to Keswick, a steam train puzzle painted by Stephen Warnes. They join Caravan Escapes, a nostalgic scene of the British countryside and caravan holidays.
There are also two new 500-piece puzzles among the new designs. Greg Giordano has designed In the Garden, depicting a romantic garden setting, while Glenny’s Garden Shop is a floral design from Steve Read.
The latest launches follow what Gibsons has billed as a “mammoth year” in 2018, in which it was named the number one performing adult puzzles manufacturer each month, based on its velocity of sales.
