Mattel’s Sanjay Luthra named Chairman of Toy Industries of Europe Board

Mattel’s managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Sanjay Luthra has been named the new chairman of the Toy Industries of Europe Board.

The announcement was made at its meeting on March 5th, where Luthra was elected to the position for his wealth of experience in the sector. Luthra has worked in several global positions for Mattel since 2003.

He has also been a board member at TIE since 2017, serving as vice chair of TIE from 2018, and is excited to take up his new role.

“TIE is at the vanguard for the toy sector when it comes to how EU policy-making affects the everyday business of reputable toy companies. It is with much enthusiasm that I pick up the reins from TIE’s departing Chair, Foye Pascoe, whose excellent leadership has driven TIE forward over the last two years,” said Luthra.

“I look forward to working with my toy sector colleagues to pursue TIE’s mission of promoting the right of every child to play safely and securely and promoting fair practices and fair legislation, allowing responsible toy companies to continue to grow.”

Luthra will be supported by Yusuf Beyaz of LEGO, who continues his role as treasurer and Carlos Callejo of Hasbro, who joins as vice chair. Callejo is currently the general manager for Benelux, CEE, Greece, Nordics and Turkey at Hasbro.
