Warhammer and Dobble behind expansion for indie retailer Firestorm Games

Hobby and party games like Warhammer and Dobble are the secret to success for the independent retailer Firestorm Games as it opens its third shop in the East of the UK.

The hobby and store specialist sprung into existence in Cardiff where it set about bringing hobby titles such as the popular games from Asmodee UK to the gamers of Wales. Success in this space soon saw it expand its operations into a second location in Newport.

On Saturday, February 16th, Firestorm Games will open a third shop, this time in Swindon in the East of England where it will bring not only the kind of hobby games that have propelled it to success in prior years but a raft of toys such as LEGO, Pokémon and Harry Potter lines.

Firestorm Games is part of the Toymaster buying group and will now set up shop on Victoria Road in Swindon.

“We have had a very successful past year here in Cardiff and Newport, bringing hobby games and popular titles such as Dobble to gamers across Wales,” Jake Cannon, store manager of Firestorm Games, Cardiff told ToyNews.

“”Our new shop in Swindon will bring everything we are known for in our other two locations, including a gaming area for locals to come and play our titles in our gaming club. This hands on experience and community is what is driving our success and separates us from the big names on the high street that are struggling.

“None of this kind of success would be possible without the help of our big name suppliers like Asmodee UK and the work of Toymaster.

“What independents can offer to consumers is more than just product. It’s an experience they can’t get elsewhere through our organised play, knowledge and staff assistance. We are looking at towards another good year for us on the high street.”
