Gibsons celebrates 100 years with Golden Ticket campaign

Gibsons is the oldest British-owned company in the puzzle industry and doesn’t it just know it. At 100 years old this year Gibsons is celebrating with its own hidden Golden Ticket campaign.

Originally a games company founded in 1919, Gibsons first introduced jigsaw puzzles to its range in the 1980s and now, almost 40 years later it is proud to be the number one performing manufacturer in adult puzzle ranges.

Its vast range now holds over 400 products, with jigsaw puzzles available in six different piece counts.

To celebrate its centenary, the Gibsons team has slipped 100 lucky tickets inside their puzzle boxes. If a lucky ticket is found, the recipient will be rewarded with a free 1,000 piece puzzle of their choice. What’s more, there is one extra ticket that rewards the recipient with a year’s supply of jigsaw puzzles.

Kate Gibson, MD of Gibsons, said: “2019 is a huge year for us and we wanted to do something special to say thank you to our fabulous jigsaw fans.

“The 100 tickets mark the 100 years that we have been in business. As well as releasing some wonderful designs this year, Gibsons 1,000 piece puzzles have the thickest board on the UK market so are the perfect treat for puzzlers.

“Good luck everyone.”

Gibsons was founded by Harry Percy Gibson after he secured a loan of £500 from the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bishopsgate, London and began to sell family games and pastimes.

Now in its fourth generation, the business is still owned and run by the Gibson family.
