Whirligig’s Peter Allinson joins Kirstie Allsop for toy special of Channel 4’s Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas

The award-winning independent toy retail chain, Whirligig is making its television debut this week as owner Peter Allinson will take a starring alongside Kirstie Allsopp for an episode of Kirstie’s handmade Christmas.

Allinson, founder of the toy shop has been asked to bring his toy-spotting talents and business experience to the series in a special episode of the popular Channel 4 show.

Allinson flew to a private address in Devon to record his part in the show, where he was asked to judge the results of the toy-making episode of the series. 

“It was lovely to meet Kirstie and participate in the making of a popular TV show,” said Allinson. “As a fellow crafter it was also nice to help Kirstie out whilst putting one of my hobbies to good use.”

The episode, which airs at 5 pm, Tuesday 11December on Channel 4, was recorded back in October. 

“When I arrived, the house was full to the brim with Christmas decorations. But at Whirligig we’re used to Christmas starting early as we’ve been well prepared for what is now our busiest time of the year.”
