Activision and LEGO’s first LEGO Overwatch set won’t be coming to retailers yet

Activision Blizzard revealed the first LEGO Overwatch building set mid last week, but there’s still no word on whether it will be made available to traditional retailers.

The LEGO Omnic Bastion is a new Blizzard-exclusive model and the first reveal in the collaboration between the video game studio and the Danish toymaker.

The building set features the mechanical hero Bastion outfitted in the Omnic Crisis skin and comes complete with a swiveling upper body, moveable arms, a display plate created from LEGO bricks and a Ganymede accessory.

This is the latest in Activision Blizzard’s leap into the toy realm with its hit video gaming IP Overwatch, following a deal with Hasbro that witnessed the launch of the Overwatch Nerf blaster range.

Unlike the Hasbro collection, the new LEGO set will only be available to purchase via the Blizzard Gear Store or on-site at BlizzCon 2018.

The statue is comprised of 182 pieces and is aimed at kids aged ten and upwards.

This is the first Overwatch LEGO reveal since Activision Blizzard announced the partnership with the Danish toy maker in August this year. There were six characters initially teased.

Neither LEGO nor Activision have confirmed whether the LEGO Overwatch building sets will be making their way to retailers yet.
