Assassin’s Creed 20-hour campaign board game to launch to Kickstarter in November

Ubisoft has teamed with the Canadian board game firm Triton Noir to launch a board game adaptation of its popular Assassin’s Creed video game franchise to Kickstarter.

The project, titled Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice, will launch to the crowdfunding platform in November this year and has been billed as an ‘extensive adaptation’ of the popular game series.

Through Brotherhood of Venice, Triton Noir – a firm which leapt onto the scene with its World War II stealth action adventure V-Commandos – players will journey through the year 1509, where they will play through a 20-hour campaign based on the “untold stories of the Venetian Brotherhood.”

It will take place during the Renaissance, which puts it between Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

The game will feature cameos from the franchise’s characters such as Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Leonardo da Vinci and Lucrezia Borgia. However, the board game will follow a new story. Characters and events will be represented by miniatures of allies, enemies, guards and a selection of integral pieces.

The game can be played with one to three players working together against an AI-controlled opponent, and will feature melee combat and will be comprised of 20 memory-based scenarios with missions that take around 45 minutes to complete. They must all be played in order, too.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice is scheduled for a November 13th launch to Kickstarter. It has spent 18 months in active development.
