Mattel celebrates 25 years of The X Files with Mulder and Scully Barbie dolls

If a 25th anniversary year wasn’t enough to immortalise the now iconic fictional FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, then a pair of Barbie dolls surely will be.

Mattel has created a set of The X Files Barbie dolls to mark the milestone of the 20th Century Fox property. The Barbie doll set arrives in the likeness of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny who took on the characters of Mulder and Scully for the first time in 1993.

Each doll comes with a $39.99 price tag as well as a mini FBI badge and wallet, which display the faces of the real-life actors who played the characters.

The Scully doll also features her crucifix and earrings ensemble.

The partnership was announced via Instagram through the official The X Files account earlier this week.

“The X Files is celebrating 25 years!” wrote the official account. “To commemorate the occasion mattel has just launched a new official Mulder and Scully Barbie.”

The launch marks the second time that Mattel has dabbled with the Fox-owned The X Files IP, havig launched a Ken and Barbie – dressed as Mulder and Scully – gift set back in 1998.
