$1.8m Kickstarter success Unstable Unicorns returns with expansion pack project

The indie publishers of the card game Unstable Unicorns that raised over $1.8 million on Kickstarter last year has returned to the platform to seek funding for a new expansion.

Already, the project created by Ramy Badie, the brains behind Unstable Unicorns and Daring, has surged past £500,000 i backing, with 23 days remaining on the crowdfunding site.

Unstable Unicorns: Control & Chaos (The Backercorn Project) – as it is so titled on Kickstarter – is an expansion pack to the 2017 hit and features new mechanics, characters and more. It is aimed at players aged 14 years old and upwards.

“One year ago, we launched Unstable Unicorns as our first game on Kickstarter,” said the firm via its Kickstarter page. “The energy and enthusiasm of our backers inspired us to expand the Unstable Unicorns Universe far beyond what we had originally envisioned.

“That’s why we created these new, backer-centric versions of the game.”

The team is even turning to its fans and backers for creative input, driving the shared experience of the Kickstarter community.

“We’re asking for your input. What new characters should we create? What should they be called? What do you think the artwork should look like? We want awesome ideas from awesome people, and we’re confident that we’ve come to the right place for that.”

The Unstable Unicorns: Control & Chaos decks will be 100 per cent Kickstarter exclusive.
