Owner of collapsed online retailer GameSeek spies toy industry move with ToySeek launch

The UK independent online retailer ToySeek has its eyes firmly on plugging the Toys R Us gap with the launch of its new ToySeek.com retail zone.

The company has emerged with expectations of becoming the ‘ultimate specialist global toy superstore, that will, according to the company owner “hopefully fill the gap that Toys R Us has left behind.”

Toy Seek is an online only specialist toy retailer selling predominantly children’s entertainment products to over 100 countries around the world. The site has already over 100,000 products listed and aims to increase this to over one million products in 2019.

The platform is the project of company CEO and owner, Stephen Staley who has 16 years of online e-commerce experience. His previous company was built from an investment of £53 and became one of the most important video game companies in the UK.

However it was in May this year that GameSeek went into liquidation. The closure of the indie video game retailer came as a “shock to Staley” that he told ToyNews “he is only just getting over.”

Despite the blow, Staley is invigorated by the potential ToySeek now has in the children’s market.

He said: “I have always wanted to launch a Toy Superstore and today I am pleased to announce we are live. We are aware of the opportunities and contribution we can bring to the hugely diverse Toy sector.

“We have the knowledge and the team to deliver an excellent customer experience. Shoppers can expect a huge range of products at competitive prices and unlike most of our competitors, delivery to the UK is free with no minimum spend.

“We also deliver fast globally with localised payment methods to suit all. We recognise the importance of putting our customers first.”
