An official Power Rangers board game has just smashed its funding goal on Kickstarter

Hasbro’s Power Rangers is steaming its way into the board gaming space thanks to a now fully funded project on the crowdsourcing site, Kickstarter.

Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid is an officially licensed board game under development from Renegade Game Studios. The title hit its target of £78,586 within just eight hours of going live on the platform.

A co-operative game for two to five players, Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid challenges players to save Angel Grove from Rita Repulsa’s evil army of monsters by working together to fight off the horde while building strength to protect the city.

The game includes carefully sculpted large scale figures, the five Power Rangers: Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, Pink Ranger, Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger and 50 combat cards. Monsters include Madame Woe, Pudgy Pig, Bones, Knasty Knight, Rita Repulsa and an army of foot soldiers.

With 21 days still remaining on the Kickstarter platform, Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid has secured £129,694 in funding to date.

The game has been licensed to Renegade Games Studios under Hasbro, the new owners of the Power Rangers brand after it acquired the IP from Saban earlier this year.
