2019 Toy of the Year Awards nominations now open

Nominations for the 2019 Toy of the Year Awards are now open.

Administered by the Toy Association, the TOTY Awards programme aims to support the philanthropic work of the Toy Foundation, which delivers toys to children in need, while celebrating the best of the toy industry.

Nominations have opened today and will close on Thursday, September 20 this year.

Toy companies, inventors and other industry representatives are being encouraged to submit their products or nominations for consideration across 17 TOTY categories via the nomination form available at TOTYAwards.org.

Finalists will be revealed on November 12 when voting will then open for retailers, media, Toy Association members and consumers alike through to January 6 2019.

One winner in each category, as well as the ‘People’s Choice’ award and the prestigious overall ‘Toy of the Year’ winner will be announced at the TOTY Awards ceremony on Friday, February 15 2019 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Historically, the Awards ceremony is the kick-off point of the New York Toy Fair week, celebrating the most outstanding new toy products to hit the marketplace while inducting industry icons into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame.

“The TOTY awards celebrate the toy community by recognising innovation and uniqueness in categories including action figures, play-sets, collectables, licensed properties, and outdoor toys among others,” said Ken Seiter, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association.

“The Awards programme not only pays homage to the best of the best in the toy industry, but serves as a critical fundraiser that supports the Foundation’s efforts to help underprivileged children all year long.”
