Kano details new Harry Potter coding kit

Kickstarter success story and tech fuelled coding company, Kano has secured a licensing deal with Warner Bros to deliver Harry Potter themed learning kits.

The new partnership marks the first piece of Harry Potter merchandise aimed at helping kids learn STEM and features a Harry Potter wand.

The system itself is centred around a ‘build it yourself’ wand that uses on on-board gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer to interact with coding content on-screen.

The kit will then challenge kids to take part in more than 70 wizard challenges that use various pieces of Harry Potter IP. The young coders create different lines that associate actions with wand movements.

The Harry Potter coding kit from Kano is compatible with iOS and Android tablets.

This is the second licensing partnership for Kano who, in 2017, struck a deal with Sesame Ventures for a Sesame Street-themed play experience.
