Meccano inspires at Big Bang Fair

Meccano is looking to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers at The Big Bang UK Fair this week, as the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for the UK’s young folks kicks off.

Attendees can get hands-on with Meccano construction kits including both junior and metal Meccano, creating real working models and taking apart in building challenges.

They will also have the chance to win a MeccaSpider set each day or a M.A.X. robot for their school.

Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, the Big Bang Fair is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits and careers information from STEM professionals. This year’s show is expected to attract upwards of the 70,000+ who attended in 2017.

“The Big Bang Show offers a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with students and young people who are interested and engaged with STEM-based toys," said Becca Hanlon, brand manager UK for Meccano. "Through the show, we hope to excite, captivate and inspire the future generations of scientists and engineers and we’re looking forward to meeting many youngsters who will join in the fun we have planned.”

Meccano is incorporating new materials and advanced technologies for its 2018 range, aiming to push the STEM space forward.
