Jumbo remains top adult puzzle brand for 2017

Jumbo Games has revealed its 2017 NPD results, showing that it has maintained its position as the UK’s top adult puzzle & accessories manufacturer for the 11th consecutive year in a row, showing growth of 13 per cent.

Jumbo’s own brands, Wasgij, Falcon de Luxe and Portapuzzle all showed double-digit growth throughout 2017 and were the top three brands in the category. 

Wasgij saw an increase of 22 per cent in its 20th anniversary year, with the release of ten new puzzles, including a highly collectable special edition puzzle to honour this landmark. Wasgij also held the top two spots for 2D adult puzzles with the Christmas 13 ‘Turkey’s Delight’ and the ‘20th Party Parade!’, showing the huge popularity of the brand and puzzle themes and artwork.

“We are ecstatic to be able to announce such positive results across our adult puzzle and accessories ranges these past 18 months,” said Steve Washbourne, sales director at Jumbo Games. 

Jumbo’s premium brand Falcon de Luxe, showed strong growth, shooting up by 28 per cent. Portapuzzle also saw growth of 16 per cent throughout the year.

“Our Number 1 brand, Wasgij, had an incredible year, proving our strategy throughout 2017 to be extremely successful," continued Washbourne. "With puzzling now more ‘fashionable’ than ever, proven by the growth of the adult puzzling market in 2017, this really is an area that retailers should look to capitalise on and grow this year and we are fully committed to helping this happen.”

The entire adult puzzle market growing by 17.3 per cent year to date in February, leaving the company in a good position to continue its double-digit growth throughout the year.
