Warhammer 40,000 merch stolen from Half Moon Bay at Spielwarenmesse 2018

A collection of over 30 lines of licensed Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar merchandise was stolen from an exhibitor stand during Nuremberg’s toy fair, Spielwarenmesse last week.

The popular franchise’s licensing partner, Half Moon Bay has informed Licensing.biz that a complete collection of merchandise was taken from the company’s show stand on the night of January 31.

The firm arrived at its stand on the morning of February 1 to find that a complete new collection of over 30 lines including bags, heat changing mugs and notebooks were missing.

Ben Craddock, sales manager at Half Moon Bay, said that hew was disappointed that the range had been stolen as visitors to the fair will now not be able to see the range, but felt the incident proved just how hot the new A/W collection is.

He added that he will be keeping a ‘closer eye on the range at Spring Fair.’

“On this occasion, the Emperor did not protect,” he said. “The full range will now debut at Spring Fair.”

Spielwarenemesse organisers were contacted about the incident, and informed Licensing.biz that the incident had not been reported to the show’s onsite police.

“We are sorry to hear about this incident,” said Scarlett Wisotzki, press officer at Spielwarenmesse eG.

“Of course we make sure that safety precautions are taken. We have a police station on the fairground. We would recommend the company to report the incident to the police.”
