DeAgonstini’s Magiki unlocks international sales for Zodiak

Banijay Group’s Zodiak Kids, De Agostini Editore, Planeta Junior and Animasia have announced today that animated preschool hit, Magiki, has sold into Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North America.

The show is based on the DeAgostini collectable figurine line of the same name which launched in 2009 and has sold an incredible 25 million products worldwide.

Discovery Kids have picked up broadcast rights for the show in the Middle East and North Africa, while public broadcaster Karusel will oversee its release in Russia. The show has also been sold to ITI Neovision in Poland for children’s channel MiniMini+.

The series launched late last year on DeA Junior in Italy and on Lagardère’s channel Tiji ahead of its broadcast in spring 2018 on free to air Gulli in France. A Zodiak Kids Studios co-production with De Agostini Editore, Planeta Junior and Animasia for Gulli, Magiki, is executive produced by Eryk Casemiro from Zodiak Kids Studios alongside Edmund Chan, and Raye Lee, executive director of Animasia Studio.

The show takes place in a magical fantasy land, where protagonist Princess Billie explores real-world issues of fairness, sibling rivalry and self-confidence.
