Shopkins has been declared the number one girls’ collectable property in the US in the play-set dolls and accessories sector, according to the latest NPD results.
The 2017 Annual NPD US data has revealed that brands including Shopkins Core, Shopkins Happy Places, Shopkins Shoppies and Shopkins Cutie Cars are collectively at the top of the leader board in the segment.
Shopkins first arrived on the scene four years ago and has since then attained the position as one of the biggest girls’ franchises across the globe, having developed brand extensions into fashion dolls, doll’s houses and vehicle play categories.
"Innovation, refreshed expansion of product and aligned activity across licensing and etnertainment have extended the brand life cycle of Shopkins far beyond the traditional lifespan of a hot collectable toy," said co-CEO of Moose Toys, Paul Solomon.
"We are proud to have built an evergreen franchise and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners and retailers around the world for their on-going support – we could not have done this without them and we look forward to a successful 2018."
As the brand moves into its fifth year, Moose Toys has outlined its plans to continue to push for innovation among all of its properties.
