Playmobil has secured double award success with its 5386 Pharaoh’s Pyramid set and 6920 Squad Car with Lights and Sound both bagging awards at the Creative Play Awards and Dad’s Choice Awards respectively.
Launched earlier this year, the award-winning Pharaoh’s Pyramid from the popular History range, has been awarded Highly Commended in the Imaginative Role Play category in the Creative Play Awards. The set is made up of five chambers and is equipped with secret switches, trap doors and thrilling puzzles. Suitable for children aged six plus, the set can be built by children themselves and encourages imaginative free play.
The Creative Play Awards are sponsored and organised by Creative Steps magazine and promote creative play as a vital part of a child’s development. The awards recognise the best products available to enhance creative development in young people and can be beneficial to consumers when making their purchasing decisions.
Elsewhere, the Squad Car with Lights and Sound has been named a winner in the Vehicles category at the Dad’s Choice Awards. The car, suitable for children aged five plus, is for young police heroes solving crimes and keeping the world safe. Its removable roof means figures can hop in and out with ease, and the working lights and siren sounds really brings the car to life.
“We are over the moon with these two wins. Since launching earlier this year both the Pharaoh’s Pyramid and Squad Car have proven extremely popular with parents and children alike," said Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager from Playmobil.
"These awards are particularly exciting as it is our desire to produce products that develop creativity in children, and are recognised by the parents as well for their imaginative play possibilities.”
The Pharaoh’s Pyramid is no stranger to awards, having also nabbed first place in the Top Imagination Toy category at the BlogOn Toy Awards, and the Imaginative Play category at the Rainbow Toy Awards earlier this year.
