PlayFusion’s Lightseekers range grows with two new characters

PlayFusion has announced new additions to its connected reality platform Lightseekers with two new action figures in the form of Zyrus and Boulder.

The Cambridge-based game developer has picked up numerous awards including their recent win of the Best Technical Innovation by TIGA, Toyology’s Toy of the Year, as well as being named a finalist for the US Toy Industry Association’s Innovative Toy of the Year.

Judges have praised PlayFusion’s proprietary technology platform that applies breakthrough artificial intelligence and robotics technologies to enable immersive mixed-reality experiences.

"Lightseekers Awakening is a critically-acclaimed action-adventure role-playing game (RPG) and is far more than just a game. It’s the fusion of fantasy and reality powered by our proprietary technology platform," explains PlayFusion co-founder and CEO, Mark Gerhard.

“Fusing video games, smart action figures with AI, augmented reality, TV, interactive trading cards and comics, it creates the most ambitious transmedia entertainment platform ever envisioned. As promised we have launched more heroes to our impressive line-up – we are urging fans to stay tuned next year for further developments.”

Lightseekers are powered by the unique fusion core that completely eliminates the need for cumbersome NFC portals, delivering real time two-way interaction between all of the 7” articulated smart action figures and the Lightseekers game.

Lightseekers smart action figures, trading cards and accessories are now available from Tesco online,, as well as Toys R Us stores.
