Get Qurious wins award for Explorer Box, releases new AR app

Educational toy company Get Qurious has picked up the 2017 Tillywig Brain Child Award for its Explorer Box which incorporated AR elements to allow children to develop through creating stories, assembling puzzles, and role-playing.

The firm has also announced the launch of a new AR app, titled Tropical Island, for the Christmas Holidays.

Get Qurious was founded by Sesh Sareday and Manoj Jacob. Sareday has worked in education for the past 20 years and previously founded the digital education company Emantras. Tom Kalinske, the former CEO of Mattel and Leapfrog, is the main advisor to Get Qurious.

The Explorer Box includes colourful sets of cards and masks, as well as treasure hunt mats. When combined with the corresponding AR app, players have countless variations of stories, puzzles, and games that come to life with 3D animation.

Get Qurious targets developmental areas including whole brain thinking, imaginative and pretend play, multi-modal learning and motor skill development.
