Trends UK has scooped two awards at the Science Toy Awards, with Insta-Snow winning the Primary School category and Discovery 360° HD Microscope scooping a finalist award.
The Science Toy Awards are organised by international scientists in association with Imperial College and celebrate outstanding toys that help develop STEM skills through play.
“Learning through play can help discard myths about how it is only suited for geniuses, as well as how difficult or dry can STEM be, as well as getting rid of the solely academic side of science to focus on the joy and fun of it," commented the creator and organiser of the STA, Dr. Andrea Alenda.
Insta-Snow by Trends UK impressed the judges, teachers and school children because of its magical transformation from powder to snow by simply adding water. The Discovery 360° won recognition for its incredible detail which affords 60/120/200 degrees of magnification.
"We want parents to consider adding STEM toys to their Christmas list, so any kid anywhere regardless of their background has the chance to play with STEM toys. We want the next generation of scientists and engineers to be diverse.”
Lindsay Hardy, marketing director, Trends UK added: “We are delighted to have won two Science Toy Awards. Insta-Snow and Discovery 360° HD Microscope have been given independent endorsement by scientists, children and teachers confirming that these are fantastic STEM learning toys.”
