Argos names Jedi Training Remote top Christmas toy

Argos has tipped Wow! Stuff’s Star Wars Jedi Training Remote as one of the top sellers this Christmas, ahead of the launch of new film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The miniature droid toy resembles the Jedi training device that has featured throughout the Star Wars mythology, first appearing in 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. The retailer expects sales to ramp up further when the film hits cinemas on December 14th.

Lindsay Rogers, buyer for gifts at Argos, said: “We’ve seen how popular the Jedi Training Remote is – a flying gadget that aspiring Jedi use for training. It’s one of those tech items that comes along every couple of years that takes everyone by surprise and it’s been a big hit ahead of the movie launch this season.

The toy has also been listed by The Independent as a ‘top Star Wars: The Last Jedi product’.

The device darts up and down, while firing simulated ‘sting beams’ at its opponent, making it a great combat training aid for any youngling.
