University Games acquires Paul Lamond

University Games has acquired Paul Lamond Games.

The acquisition bolsters the UK presence of University Games Corporation, a US based game company currently active in the UK under the name University Games UK.

University Games now plans to operate Paul Lamond as a stand alone entity and does not anticipate any changes in management of staffing.

“I am delighted that we will be part of University Games and this is a great transition for the company,” said Richard Wells, managing director of Paul Lamond Games.

“University Games is a great fit for us and has a similar business model in the US to the Paul Lamond way of doing things here in the UK.”

Bob Moog, president of University Games, added: “I am so excited to finally be part of Paul Lamond Games. Now when I play classics like Yes/No, Perudo, Who’s In the Bag and What’s Up, I will have great pride that we have added some truly great party games to our range.

“This is another step in our efforts to find talented management and strong product lines to build University Games into a global player in the games and puzzle market.”

Paul Lamond Games was founded in 1983 by Richard Pain and is based in London. The company specialises in board games, jigsaw puzzles and murder mystery dinner party games.

University Games was founded in 1985 by Moog and Cris Lehman and is based in San Francisco.
