Playmates named master toy partner for DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender

Universal Brand Development has unveiled the first details of the UK consumer products roll-out for the animated series, DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender.

The series will bring a robust consumer products programme, lead by the global master toy partner, Playmates, with UK distribution from Flair starting in April 2018.

The range consists of six lines where individual entry price Voltron figures can be bought, including figures of the Blue, Red, Green, Black, and Yellow lions as well as Voltron in its complete form.

All five die cast items can be collected and combined to form a 16” Voltron.

Also available is the complete Ultimate Voltron, and role-play toys are also offered for fans that want to transform into Voltron. Retail price points will range from £9.99 to £49.99, offering something for all fans and collectors who will love the combination of classic design that has been upgraded with modern tech, bringing the original version of Voltron to life.

The reimagining of one of the most popular fan-favourite shows of all time, DreamWorksVoltron Legendary Defender followsfive unsuspecting teenagers, transported from Earth into the middle of a sprawling intergalactic war, as they become pilots for five robotic lions in a battle to protect the universe from evil.

Voltron Legendary Defender has played to critical acclaim on Netflix since June 2016, and it is now expanding its reach with Sony’s POP channel confirmed as the free-to-air home of the show in the UK.
