Funko opens first retail store in US

Funko has opened the doors to its first retail store, located in Wetmore Avenue in Everett, US.

The Funko HQ store boasts 90,000sq ft of space, designed to offer fans an interactive experience with a host of products from licensed collectables, plush, Dorbz and Funko Pop! Vinyl figures, as well as handbags, backpacks and more.

Fashion accessories from the firm’s latest accusation of Loungefly will also be on show.

“We set out to create a pop-culture hub in Everett that not only will support our future growth but that will inspire our team and our amazing Funko fans, and that’s exactly what we’ve accomplished today,” said Brian Mariotti, CEO of Funko.

“I’m thrilled to finally unveil this project which is a love letter to the unique phenomenon that is the fandom of Funko.”

The HQ will also feature a Pop! Factory, that will offer guests the chance to create their own custom Pop! vinyl figure, as well as Funko University, an area dedicated to teaching and mentoring young students in the skills of drawing, sculpting and toy design.

The grand opening of the store was held on August 19th.
