US: WowWee takes Fingerlings to retailers’ shelves

WowWee is bolstering its robotic toy offering with the rollout of its Fingerlings Baby Monkeys.

Launching across the US at Toys R Us, Walmart, Amazon and Target, Fingerlings are mini interactive pet robots that curl around a user’s finger and come to life when played with, responding to touch, motion and sound.

"We’re always looking for fun and innovative ways to teach and amuse kids with our products. Fingerlings are like having an interactive friend at your fingertips – they’re impossible not to love," said Sydney Wiseman, brand manager at WowWee.

"We have been so excited by the positive response across the UK and Canada and we can’t wait to see the reaction in the US. It’s definitely a highly anticipated launch and we’re happy to have the opportunity to support a great wildlife cause along the way."

Inspired by the rare finger monkey species, the toy firm will donate $1 for every Fingerlings sold in the first week of sales to WildAid.

Measuring at 5.5-inches tall, each Fingerlings also comes with over 40 sounds and animations, including blinking eyes, monkey sounds, hands that grip and more.
