MGA now ‘fourth largest toy company in the UK,’ says CEO Isaac Larian

MGA Entertainment has become the fourth largest toy company in the UK and number seven in the US market.

The statement was put out across social media by the company’s CEO, Isaac Larian who cited that ‘we are growing high double digit on newness and innovation.’

MGA Entertainment has recently seen a spate of successes. Earlier this year, the NPD Group revealed that the firm had grown nearly 50 per cent in January 2017 versus last year, thanks to its strong performance in the doll category.

The main driver behind this was the launch of its LOL Surprise Dolls Assortment, a line that took the number one spot in the dolls category and Num Noms Blind Bag Assortment, which took the number two position in January.

In February this year, Larian stated that he expected to ‘keep the momentum up and grow over the competition as the year progresses.’

It would appear that momentum has been maintained following a post from Larian via the professional social media networking site, Linkedin in which he stated:

“MGA just became the fourth largest toy company in the UK and number seven in the USA. We are growing high double digit on newness and innovation. USA will catch up with UK soon.”

With LOL Surprise Dolls now securing a large chunk of the US collectables market, MGA’s global success looks on track to mirror the success the firm saw back in the early 2000s with its Bratz line.
