Ebay introduces UK price match guarantee

Online ecommerce giant Ebay has yesterday announced new plans to bolster its offering with a price match guarantee on over 20,000 deals on its UK marketplace, in addition to offering the service in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

Ebay has expressed confidence that its offers represent the best prices on the market, however if a shopper can find a competitor offering the same product for less, they will now be awarded a voucher that can be used against the purchase of the item, once the retailer has been verified.

The product pages will also list the prices offered by six major online competitors, namely Amazon, Currys, John Lewis, Argos, Tesco, and Asda.

The new initiative will roll out in July across all eligible items in eBay’s UK Deals Programme.

This news follows the launch of the price match guarantee in the US, which rolled out across over 50,000 items.
