Hasbro and IDW Publishing launch Clue comic series

Hasbro has partnered with IDW Publishing to launch a new comic book based on the toymaker’s hit gaming title, Cluedo.

The new launch will be printed as a six-issue miniseries and joins a portfolio of recent brand extensions for the game that has seen it adapted to a movie, novel, stage play and VCR game.

The first issue of the new comic book series – title Clue – features politicians, rappers, military members, pharmacists and more, being invited to a mansion. Murder occurs by the end of the comic book, challenging readers to revisit its pages and hunt for the clues provided.

The series has been penned by comic book writer Paul Allor.

“We wanted Clue to be unmistakable as a comic book,” he told the Washing Post. “As we get further along in the story, you will see things happen that can only happen in the unique format of comics.”
