Anki details new Cozmo Code Lab

Just weeks after the launch of its popular interactive robot Cozmo, Anki has revealed a new kit designed to intensify engagement with the robotic companion.

Called Cozmo Code Lab, the new kit allows kids to tap into the little bots advanced technology, triggering real-time actions from Cozmo.

Cozmo Code lab taps into the current trend for learning to code, enabling children to manipulate the technology within the toys of today. Billed as an intuitive programming language, Cozmo Code Lab encourages users to drop blocks into a sequence to trigger reactions from the robot.

“Everything we do at Anki is an effort to advance the state of robotics, whetehr that is kids’ learning coding for the first time, or PhD students solving complex computer vision challenges in a lab with Cozmo,” said Boris Sofman, CEO and co-founder at Anki.

“With the launch of Code Lab, Cozmo now helps kids develop the logic and reasoning skills that programming requires. Based on the Scratch Blocks project, a collaboration between MIT Media Lab and Google, we now have a powerful tool that gives anyone interested in learning to code a robot the opportunity to unleash their creativity.

“There’s simply no consumer robotics platform available like Cozmo.”

Cozmo Code Lab will be available from this September with a Cozmo Collector’s Edition available for pre-order now.
