Independent Retailer Month to return in July

Independent Retailer Month returns once again this July, with the aim of championing the smaller retailer on the UK’s High Streets.

Designed to highlight the important role indies play in the retail sector and the local economy, retailers are encouraged to support the annual summer campaign.

To support the month’s activities, a searchable directory has launched to help consumers find independent shops near them in the UK.

Plus, it is free to list a business on the directory, while also providing retailers with regular social media promotion with a Twitter account.

“The outcome will be a positive boost for the local economy and the community. Whilst the campaign runs for just a month, the vision is to help change consumer habits for the long term, creating more sustainable towns and communities,” reads the Independent Retailer Month website.

Toy retailers up and down the High Street should definitely make use of this tool as indie stores get the recognition they deserve throughout July.
