Sphero releases interactive Spider-Man tech toy

Sphero has revealed the latest in its line of tech toys in the form of the interactive Spider-Man.

Releasing in time for the new movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, this new device from Sphero can talk and interact with children, as well as reading them stories from an internal library that is said to store more than 400 pages worth of content and 100 storylines.

The stationary toy, is connected to the internet and will, in theory, update with more stories when they are added to the device repertoire by Sphero. The app can also be controlled through a smartphone via Bluetooth, although this functionality is not required to use the toy.

The device generally functions like an interactive choose-your-own-adventure book and does not store or send data, in compliance with the COPPA, legislation that protects children’s privacy online.

The toy is out now for £149.99.
