Work gets underway for Birmingham Legoland Discovery Centre

Construction work is set to begin on Birmingham’s Legoland Discovery Centre.

Situated at the Barclaycard Arena, work will begin on the 3,300-meter square foot indoor attraction late this year.

Slated to open in 2018, the site will boast a range of LEGO play areas, a 4D cinema, a Miniland area and party rooms for birthdays and celebrations.

A LEGO master model builder will also be on hand to hold master classes for guests.

Owned and operated by Merlin Entertainents, the site marks Merlin’s second Discovery Centre to open in the UK.

John Jakobsen, chief new openings officer at Merlin Entertainments, said: “The Legoland Discovery Centre concept has been a huge success across the globe,” reports the Birmingham Mail.

“Uniquely, and most importantly it was always conceived and designed from a child’s perspective so it is a very special place, offering an opportunity for adults and younger children to spend fun, quality time together.”
