Eric Snook’s toy shop to close

Bath-based toy store, Eric Snook’s, is about to close its doors after more than 60 years of trading.

Sadly, the shop owner Mr Snook passed away in October last year, and the lease is up in June this year, meaning that the store will have to close.

Lucy Morrison, who has worked at the shop, said: "It’s very sad that it’s closing. There’s not many toy shops left in Bath,” reports the Bath Chronicle.

"Sadly Mr Snook passed away in October and the lease is up here in June.”

Morrison also cited that the growth of online shoppers has contributed to closure, as more and more customers come in and look at items and then go and buy online.

Following the news of its closure, the toy store is holding a sale with 20 per cent off everything apart from LEGO, which customers can receive 10 per cent off of instead.
