LEGO moves into mobile gaming with TT Games

TT Games has acquired the UK-based mobile game developer Playdemic in a move to create a raft of new LEGO mobile games.

A division of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games is the name behind a roster of best-selling LEGO titles, including LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Dimensions.

Under the new deal, the division will look to develop a new series of LEGO games, tapping into the latest generation of mobile game players.

“We couldn’t be happier to bring on board such a talented and capable team,” said Tom Stone, managing director, TT Games.

“Playdemic brings a unique set of skills to complement our existing studios, and a tremendous track record on mobile. They’re a perfect fit – and will enable us to take advantage of exciting new opportunities to build new kinds of socially connected LEGO games.”

We built Playdemic to create innovative, meaningful mobile games with high production values, which deliver a uniquely social, incredibly fun and shared experience for our players – and cannot imagine a better context in which to continue that work.

The Wilmslow based Playdemic boasts a successful portfolio of mobile game titles, including Golf Clash and Village Life, which have been downloaded more than 50 million times, generating in excess of $50 million of revenue.
