US: Amazon rolls out STEM toy subscription service

Amazon has expanded its subscription offering with the latest addition of a STEM toy service.

The online retail giant is offering parents in the US the service for $19.99 a month (£15.80) to get STEM-based toys delivered to their homes as part of Amazon’s STEM Club.

Amazon said on its website: “STEM Club is a monthly program that delivers handpicked, high-quality science, technology, engineering, and math toys to your door at a great price.

“Each month you will receive a different, age-appropriate STEM toy that will encourage your child to learn through play. From robotics to natural sciences, there’s always a new discovery on the way.”

Three different age ranges are available for users to pick from, including three to four year olds, five to seven and eight to 13.

Some toy examples kids will be able to get their hands on include an automobile engineer and a math playbox with puzzles for children to solve.
