Chinese toy sales for the popular pre-school series Octonauts have jumped a whopping 350 per cent in 2016.
According to the TV production and licensing firm, Silvergate Media, the property has taken the market by storm achieving a record more than 4.1 billion online views since launch.
Over the last five months, online views have increased by more than one billion, while toys are driving the brand’s licensing programme across the territory.
Silvergate Media has since outlined its plans for further growth of the brand in the region through a partnership with Mattel China who will develop the property’s consumer products licensing programme.
Silvergate also plans to launch the first Octonauts movies in 2018, as well as expand the Octonauts brand through new partnerships in China with local mall events, attractions, hotels and aquariums in 2018.
