The Cambridge Toy Shop closes its doors

Following 12 years in business, The Cambridge Toy Shop has now closed its doors on the High Street.

Owner, Vivienne Watson, has revealed that it was no longer viable to keep trading, citing high rent and increased parking fees as reasons for the store’s closure.

According to Watson, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge is charging higher rent, which has started to impact negatively on the toy business.

The toy retailer said on its website: “A huge thanks to all of our loyal customers who have helped us to keep the last independent toy shop in Cambridge open for so long.”
