The Entertainer kicks off Christmas campaign with new advert

Toy retailer The Entertainer debuted its new Christmas TV campaign last night on ITV.

Starring actor Brian Blessed, The Tale of the Magical Penny promoted the store’s Mix & Match Penny Sale, which offers customers who make a full price purchase to buy a second product for a penny.

Toy brands including Paw Patrol, Furby, Boom, Monopoly, Spider-Man and My Little Pony all star in the advert, alongside Blessed who voices the story book.

The £1 million advertising campaign features a 30 second and 10 second ad, and will be shown during prime weekday daytime and evening slots including Coronation Street, Loose Women and This Morning.

The campaign also marks the first time the retailer has ventured into cinema advertising, with the commercial set to hit screens on today for four weeks.

“Christmas represents a fantastic opportunity for us to make a real impact in this competitive trading period,” said Phil Geary, marketing and e-commerce director at The Entertainer.

“We wanted to create a memorable commercial which resonates with all the family and promotes our unique Mix & Match Penny Sale across multiple channels to drive footfall both in-store and online.”
