BTHA honours Character Options’ The Four with Lifetime Achievement award

Character Options’ Richard King, Kiran Shah, Joe Kissane and Jon diver have been honoured with the BTHA’s annual Lifetime Achievement Award.

Known to colleagues as The Four, the Character executives were presented with the accolade at this year’s BTHA AGM and Industry Day, held at the Great Fosters Hotel in Egham.

A short film detailing the history of Character Options and the timeline of each of The Four was played to a room of industry friends and colleagues, before King took to the stage to thank the team that has contributed to the firm’s success.

It was earlier in the day that Character’s Diver was named the new chairman of the BTHA, taking over from Phil Ratcliffe, while Hasbro’s Foye Pascoe was confirmed as the new vice chairman.

Richard Beecham was handed the Toy Trust Outstanding Contribution award, championed for his personal donation that has since enabled the BTHA to support every children’s hospice registered in the UK as part of the group’s Giving the Gift of Playtime initiative.

Elsewhere Paul Martin of Boxwood Consulting and former England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward offered a morning of conference talks on the UK’s retail outlook and team management respectively.
