Esdevium sweeps awards board at ‘biggest ever UK Games Expo’

Esdevium has hailed the UK Games Expo as ‘resounding success’ as the firm walks away from the annual tabletop gathering with 11 awards.

The games specialist is celebrating a ‘hugely successful show’, having showcased its range of titles on an 800 sq. ft. stand that also housed a number of live gaming tournaments.

Held at Birmingham’s NEC from June 3rd to June 5th, the three-day event has been championed as the biggest ever UK Games Expo, having attracted over 25,000 attendees.

During the event, Esdevium facilitated a range of national tournaments for its roster of games, including the world’s largest tournament for the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game.

The distributor and its roster of partners also came away from the event with no fewer than 11 awards, including Best Board Game with Miniatures (for Star Wars Rebellion) Best Party Game (for Codenames) and Best Game Expansion (for Colt Express – Horse and Stagecoach).

Esdevium’s managing director, Steve Buckamster, said: “We have had an incredible show and we feel very privileged not only to be bringing these great award-winning games to the UK, but also from the reaction of the attendees to our games and the show in general.

“It’s fantastic to see that specialist games have now grown to a size for such a show to now exist in the UK.”
