Sambro’s Nikki Samuels and his team the Pinarello Bikers have completed their charity bike ride across France, and reached their grand £250,000 total.
The team, which included Nikki, Naresh Abrol, Simon Showman and Bobby Arora from B&M, completed the 600km cycle to help raise money for neurosurgery equipment.
Smashing their target and reaching £264,001, the team presented the cheque to Alder Hey Children’s Charity and met surgeon Benedetta Pettorini, who will be using the equipment purchased with the money raised.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone in the toy industry who donated to this amazing cause. This generosity really spurred us on throughout the bike ride as we saw the funds increasing by the day,” said Samuels, director of Sambro.
"We are really proud that this money will be used to help patients at Alder Hey – a brilliant hospital that leads the way in neurosurgery for young patients.”
John Armstrong, director of philanthropy at Alder Hey Children’s Charity, added: ”We would like to congratulate everyone involved for completing their incredible bike ride across France. We are extremely grateful that they have chosen to raise money for Alder Hey and for the truly remarkable amount the amount of money they have raised.
“This money will be used to purchase life-saving equipment in our new hospital, which will help our neurosurgery teams continue to provide a world-class service to patients throughout the UK.”
